Nationwide Partnership Provides GE a Solution for Residential EVSE Installation Services

10.01.2010- GOLDEN, Colo.- ServiceMagic, the leading online source for connecting homeowners to pre-screened professionals, is pleased to announce a new partnership with GE. Through the partnership, ServiceMagic will be GE's premiere installation provider for residential WattStation Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) units nationwide.

ServiceMagic's new partnership with GE will provide a network of certified electricians for reliable installation of the electric vehicle charger in consumer's home. Electric vehicle owners will have access to ServiceMagic's screened and approved electricians, and can submit EVSE service requests on ServiceMagic.com. The service is free to consumers, and after submitting a service request consumers will be matched with local EVSE service professionals.

GE today unveiled the residential GE WattStation, an easy-to-use electric vehicle (EV) charger. Building off the success of the public charger introduced in July, the residential GE WattStation is designed to help accelerate the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles by significantly decreasing time needed for vehicle charging and, using smart grid technology, allowing utility companies to manage the impact of electric vehicles on the local and regional grids.
